Since over 6 years, with any friends I met thanks to simracing and that I never seen, we had planed to go any year at the most beautiful race, a legend, the yearly motorsport event, Le Mans 24 Hours. The problem is that I live in Tenerife, and it’s a bit far from there.
This year will be the first time for them. They have planed to go a month before I do. I shouldn’t be there because of various reasons. But I was far to imagine that the best news that a motorsport and design fan can expect.
April 26th, 2015, a notification of Michael Avenatti, american driver, on Twitter make my phone ring. “Is it possible to contact with you for a design work? Your job are amazing!”. First surprise. So I sent him my email to talk about the design work. At this moment he tells me he saw the livery concept of the Ferrari 458 GT3 that I made in 2013. A livery based on JMW Motorsport and Dunlop colors (official partner of JMW Motorsport at this time) and that they would like to use it for the Le Mans 24 Hours race this year on their Ferrari F458 GTE, JMW Motorsport’s one precisely.
Having some difficulties to realize the opportunity that presented to me, I accepted without hesitation. Some modifications to do (on sponsors principally) and it is validated. The livery will be racing at Le Mans, driven by Michael Avenatti, Abdulaziz Al Faisal and Kuba Giermaziak in GTE AM category.
In exchange an invitation to live the race with them in the paddock, is offered to me. I accept this offer without much discussions. Be able to see my first livery on a real car at Le Mans 24 Hours, able to touch and see with my own eyes this creation on this track, it’s just a dream.
I’ll fly off from Tenerife June 10th at 7:30 p.m. to arrive at Le Mans on 11th at 2:30 p.m. (correspondence in Barcelona and Paris) to be there for qualifying on thursday evening until the end of the 24 Hours race on June 13th and 14th.
Meanwhile more photos on my return, here are those taken by Laurent Chauveau for Endurance-Info on scrutineerings yesterday afternoon.
